Note from the Centre Manager

As Centre Manager for the Centre of Applied Science for Health (C.A.S.H.), I wish to extend a very warm welcome to you and invite you to take a little time to explore the challenging and exciting programmes of research we have embarked upon.

We live in a time of rapid change tempered with ever increasing demands for answers to important questions relating to health, well-being and the technologies needed to support public and commercial health-related needs. We are confident that our research teams can and will continue to make significant contributions, rising to meet the challenges of generating new knowledge and technologies, and translating them into effective diagnostic and therapeutic options for everyday use. In parallel, we will foster the development of highly skilled research graduates who are accomplished in their fields, and have the capacity to work as true professionals with transferable knowledge and skills.

Our mission is to pursue high quality research in prioritised areas, translate knowledge gained to the clinical and commercial arenas, and to the maintain excellence in teaching, learning and research at graduate and undergraduate levels.

In order to fulfil this mission, we will strive for the highest possible quality of research in collaboration with our partners at NICB-DCU, NUI Maynooth, and AMNCH. We have formed effective systems allowing us to focus on particular areas of common interest with importance for regional and national development. Ultimately, these research efforts will lead to new understandings of human health related matters and emerging products with the capacity to be life saving, life changing, and life enhancing.

Regards
